The Annual Caucasus Conference, an international event that brings together experts from the South Caucasus (Azerbaijan, Georgia, Armenia), Russia (including the Northern Caucasus), Turkey, the U.S. and the E.U. to assess and discuss the situation with governance, transition and development in the region.

The Caucasus Yearbook, a volume in Russian based on presentations made at the Caucasus Conference; it contains the results of research on nation-building, democratization, development, regional and European integration of the Caucasus.

Workshop

The EU, Turkey and the Caucasus: Current Stage of Relations

On April 5 at 14.00, the Caucasus Institute will hold a workshop on current trends and developments in relations between the EU, Turkey and the South Caucasus. Looking at the EU’s involvement in the wider region comprising Turkey and the Caucasus, the workshop will focus on bilateral relations between the region’s countries, the EU on the whole and its member states in particular.
The speakers will be Alexander Iskandaryan, Director of the Caucasus Institute; Angelo Santagostino, Jean Monnet professor, European Economic Integration, Ankara Yildirim Beyazit University; Yildiz Deveci, Director of the Department of Caucasus Studies, Ankara Yildirim Beyazit University.
Presentations will be followed by an open debate moderated by Hrant Mikaelian, Researcher at the Caucasus Institute.

International Conference

Prospects for Peace in Nagorno-Karabakh: International and Domestic Perspectives


On March 15-16, 2018 the Caucasus Institute will hold an international conference on Prospects for Peace in Nagorno-Karabakh: International and Domestic Perspectives in the Gulbenkian and Kerkorian Halls at the Elite Plaza Business Center, 15 Movses Khorenatsi St. On March 15 registration starts at 9:05 a.m. The conference is held in the framework of a project on Engaging society and decision-makers in dialogue for peace over the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict implemented by the Caucasus Institute with support from the UK Government’s Conflict, Stability and Security Fund.The conference will focus on conflict resolution prospects, repercussions of the April 2016 escalation, current positions of the parties in conflict, the economic dimension of the conflict and trends in its public perceptions. H.E. Judith Farnworth, Ambassador of the UK to Armenia, and Alexander Iskandaryan, Director of Caucasus Institute, will open the conference.
